Dear friends,
International Crisis Aid is responding to the crisis in Haiti. Will you help us?
Hundreds of thousands are expected to be dead and many more injured and displaced.
ICA is working to set up one or more refugee camps in Carrefour, Haiti, at the epicenter of the earthquake. We are working through a local church relationship.
For now, cell service there is nonoperational. I will be flying out as soon as we can secure a flight, private jet or helicopter. Currently, all flights into Haiti have been suspended due to massive damage to the tower at the Haiti airport. It may be 3-5 days, but I will go as soon as possible.
NEEDS:
Right now, our biggest need is funding. As we do in all of our crisis relief, we plan to buy everything in country (if possible). Because of the situation, the infrastructure is shattered. The cost of shipping donated goods ends up costing more than just purchasing goods in country in most situations. It is logistically much better as well as we are able to bypass shipping large containers and customs. Therefore, we are asking churches, schools, businesses and communities to consider taking up a monetary collection toward our efforts.
VOLUNTEERS:
For now, we are not requesting volunteers to go with us. We will determine if that is a need once we arrive. Instead, we ask you consider volunteering by hosting a fundraising project for this cause. Visit www.crisisaid.org for more information.
Please consider making a gift today. You can make an online gift by clicking on the DONATE NOW button on the right side of this page, or by clicking HERE to navigate to the donation page. Your gift will be designated for Haiti and will be 100% tax deductible.
Thank you,
Pat Bradley
